Food Vendor Application

Dear Food Vendor:

The 2008 Grant Park Summer Shade Festival is currently accepting food vendor applications for the festival scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, August 30th and 31st. The 6th Annual Summer Shade Festival is hosted by The Grant Park Conservancy and is set along the shaded pedestrian roadways of historic Grant Park, Atlanta's oldest public park. The weekend is filled with a variety of featured events including the Artist Market, food/beverage vendors, the Adams Realtors 5K Run for the Park on Saturday morning, live music and a children's fun center. In addition, a ticketed event that features Atlanta’s top chefs and cool wines — Corks & Forks — occurs during the Festival. Returning to the Festival this year is the Aaron's L5 Flyers Dog Days Criterium - a high speed cycling competition with a cash purse and primes of $10.000+. We anticipate up to 19,000 attendees during the two-day festival. Proceeds from the festival benefit the Grant Park Conservancy and its efforts to restore this historic green space.

Our food vendor participation fees help the Festival to provide adequate sanitation, security and promotion services. We ask that all food vendors provide at least one 55-gallon trash receptacle at their respective space and maintain this receptacle over the weekend. Festival sanitation crews remove bagged trash from the site. We also ask food vendors to encourage recycling. All applications are reviewed and selected based on food type, space requirements, low impact, display and to ensure a balance and variety of food and beverage. We recommend you complete and submit your application at the earliest date listed below to take advantage of pricing and for the best chance to obtain space in the food market.

Fees for participation are:

  • Applications Received After 03/15/08): 

          Space requirement 10x10 = $375 + electrical as needed

          Space requirement 10z15 = $425 + electriclal as needed

          Space requirement 10x20 = $450 + electrical as needed

          Space requirement 10x30 = $500 + electrical as needed

You may provide your own tent(s) or request a tent from the Festival ($250 weekend rental includes set up/take down, weighting, two chairs, one six foot table). Tents must be weighted on all corners to secure them in case of storm or wind. Electricity is available upon request. Cost for electricity is based on number of outlets needed ($25 each) and amperage draw (standard current $100). Vendors are not permitted to bring generators. We encourage as little on-site food preparation as possible. Any and all Fulton County Department of Health permit fees required for on-site preparation are the responsibility of the vendor. The Festival seeks to provide a park friendly and healthy food selection to attendees. We do not accept fried foods. The Festival will make every effort to minimize menu item duplication and reserves the right to alter menus of vendor. Submission of an application is not a guarantee of acceptance. Any vendors not selected will receive a full refund of fees. Vendors accepted to the Festival may cancel, in writing, by August 1 and receive a refund. The Festival will retain a $50 processing fee on all cancellations. Withdrawals after August 1, will forfeit all fees. Vendors may choose to sell beverages but must purchase product (carbonated soft drinks, bottled water) from the Festival at discounted rates. Rates are designed to assure reasonable profit to the vendor. Due to sponsor relationships involving carbonated soft drinks, coffee, and tea, no competing brands are allowed. The Festival retains all rights to sales of beverages, both alcoholic and non alcoholic.

Sample: If you apply by the March 1 Deadline the entry fee  for a 10x10 space is $325 + $100 for electrical hookup (if needed) + $25 per outlet. If you need electricity and one outlet = total to submit is $450.

If you apply after March 15 the entry fee for a 10x10 space is $375 + $100 for electrical hookup (if needed) + $25 per outlet. If you need electricity and one outlet = total to submit is $500.
