One of the last remaining defensive fortifications in the city
Join Stephen Evans for a walk/talk to historic Ft. Walker in the southeast corner of Grant Park. Stephen is a local furniture designer and artist whose love of history stretches back his whole life. He has volunteered extensively at historic sites and battlefields across the country and worked in production of award winning documentaries and educational classes.
11:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m. $5 Adults/Seniors and Students $3/Children under 10 free. Meet at the south end of the Boulevard parking area.
The breastworks at Ft. Walker were part of an extensive line of fortifications contructed in 1863 in preparation for Sherman's visit to Atlanta. Learn about the fort, battlefield strategy and the Battle for Atlanta.
